Vietnam–Japan Program students experience the Art of Origami

On the afternoon of August 27, 2026, an “Origami Art Experience” session was held in Room E301, Campus 3, LHU, for students of the Vietnam–Japan Program, under the guidance of Dr. Hirano Ayaka.

Origami (折り紙) is a well-known traditional Japanese paper-folding art. Using simple sheets of paper, participants can create a variety of lively and diverse shapes through skill, concentration, and creativity.

During the program, students were introduced to the basics of Origami, observed each step of the folding process, and practiced folding paper themselves under the guidance of Dr. Hirano Ayaka. The activity took place in a cheerful and friendly atmosphere, giving students an opportunity to learn while developing patience and creativity.

One of the most interesting activities was making lucky paper frogs. Starting with simple folds, students gradually completed their own creations. The activity not only brought students joy but also helped them better appreciate the delicacy, precision, and meanings embedded in traditional Japanese handicrafts.

The experience provided students of the Vietnam–Japan Program with an opportunity to explore Japanese culture in a direct and engaging way. Through hands-on practice, students gained additional cultural knowledge while improving their concentration, dexterity, and spirit of exchange and learning.
