Alumnus Võ Chí Công – Achieving Success Through Youth Union Activities.

Võ Chí Công was once a student of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics at Lac Hong University. He moved to Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai in 2012. After a year of adapting to the new environment and working part-time while studying, he realized his passion lay in business, communication, and economic activities. As a result, he decided to change his major from Mechatronics and Electronics to Restaurant and Hotel Management under the Faculty of Business Administration – International Economics at Lac Hong University.

He began studying Restaurant and Hotel Management in 2013 (Class 13QK111) and graduated in 2017. After graduation, thanks to his demonstrated competence and capability, he was recruited by Hoa Sen Group in the Southeast region, where he worked for one year before returning to his hometown. Originally from Ha Tinh, he is now an alumnus and has been working as a sales officer at Vietcombank for the past three years.

He was also the first student of the university to receive the Long Thanh Golf – Links To Success Award (2nd Edition, 2015–2016), organized by Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company on January 14, 2016. This was his first time applying, and he was honored to win the award after being selected and interviewed among more than 600 student applications.

    Passion for Youth Union Activities

In addition to strong academic performance, Công was highly active and passionate about Youth Union and Student Association activities organized by the university and faculty. His enthusiasm for community service and collective activities had been nurtured since secondary and high school.

Whether participating as a member, volunteer, collaborator, or student leader, each role provided him with valuable experiences and life lessons. Through these activities, he developed essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership. He also gained confidence, resilience, and practical knowledge that supported both his studies and personal growth.

He served as President of the Student Association of the Faculty of Business Administration – International Economics (2015–2016 term) and became a role model for fellow students. He actively guided and supported younger members.

He shared that one of his most memorable experiences was participating in the annual Tet program organized by the faculty’s Youth Union and Student Association, especially the program “Sending Students Home for Tet & Charity Music Night.” Other activities he enthusiastically joined included student camps, training programs, freshman welcoming events, recruitment challenges, and startup competitions.

Balancing study, Youth Union activities, and part-time work to support his family was sometimes exhausting and challenging. However, he was always supported by friends and lecturers from the Faculty of Business Administration – International Economics. He expressed deep gratitude to:

    • MSc. Ngô Thị Kim Anh – Lecturer and former Youth Union advisor

    • MSc. Trương Lê Hoàng – Lecturer

    • MSc. Phan Văn Hải – Homeroom lecturer

and many other lecturers who supported and encouraged him throughout his journey.

    Message to Students

Amid the complicated Covid-19 situation, he wishes lecturers and students good health and peace. He hopes to return to visit the university and share with current students:

“As students, live passionately and wholeheartedly with the enthusiasm of youth. Student life is the most beautiful and wonderful time of our lives. Participating in activities and programs is an opportunity for us to grow and become more confident in life.”

Today, Võ Chí Công continues to develop his career at Vietcombank, carrying with him the valuable experiences and lessons gained from his time in Youth Union and Student Association activities.
